The Rockefeller foundation and Project Innovation reached out to L&C to craft a short film about MASLAHA, an organization that works to create new ways of tackling long-standing issues affecting Muslim communities.
Through interviews with the leaders of the group and case studies of three current initiatives, Maslaha is revealed to be truly innovative in their fluid approach to changing attitudes and challenging systems of inequality. Lacking a defined playbook or preconceptions about how an initiative will take shape, the group relies on adaptation and innovation to learn from the journey as much as the result. This approach saw them awarded the Project Innovation Grand Prize for 2015.
L&C worked to give the film a tone of gravity paired with optimism to provide a succinct and emotional telling of their story.
